I have one day until my taxes are due. If I send it per mail to the IRS it will be late.. Do i get penalized?

the date of mailing (postmarked by the post office) is the date of filing, not the date received by the IRS. so, if you mail it before it is due or on the date it is do there will be no penalty for late filing.
