Is it municipal bond interest, then only the state from which it is attributed to recognizes it as exempt.  If it's non taxable dividends, like return of capital investment, then it would
 be
nontaxable to any state.  Use the long form of Schedule B dividends if it is taxable in other states, If the amounts or large enough you may be required to pay
taxes to the states that don't recognize it as tax exempt.
