Insurance you obtain through your employer is generally not considered a "Marketplace" plan.  Marketplace means insurance acquired through HealthCare.gov or similar Obamacare sites.

Unless your insurance was obtained through a Qualified Health Provider (QHP), then you should answer No if you are insured through your employer.

I work for the marketplace, if you didn't sign up through healthcare.gov, or have an agent help you, it's not a marketplace plan. Now, if you received a subsidy, which is the tax credit, then yes.

And that's really what the question is about - to determine if TurboTax needs to gather additional information about your subsidy.  Here is the content of the help link for this screen that may be useful also:

"You can check your health plan member ID card to see if it has the name or logo of your state Marketplace or exchange on it, or if it says QHP. This stands for Qualified Health Plan, which is the official term for a Marketplace or exchange plan. If it doesn't, check with your health insurance plan carrier to see if your plan is a QHP. The contact info is usually on the back of your member ID card.

If you qualified for a tax credit discount that lowered your monthly premiums when you purchased the plan, then you got a Marketplace plan.

If you enrolled in a catastrophic plan or your state's Medicaid program through the Marketplace, then you did NOT get a Marketplace plan."

if your employer gave you specific instruction to obtain heath insurance through QHP(is this a online site to pick insurance?) then i would say yes it is a marketplace. perhaps your employer has a plan but you needed to register and sign up on the marketplace to obtain it. what is QHP
