I have imported 1099 Bs for three accounts with Fidelity (National Financial Services). Only two show up during review. When I add the missing one again, another is gone

Only two 1099 Bs show up for review.  If I reimport the missing 1099, one of the other two then disappears from the review page.  There is no way to tell if the missing 1099 information is still present or whether it has been deleted.  Further, I can't tell if the data is duplicated once I reimport.  Every time I go through the process the tax due decreases.

Here is a work around since there are two possibilities. One, there is a transaction limit, you may exceeding the 2,000 transaction mark. Second, On all returns, 1099-B Quick Entry Table Cost/Basis input is giving an error for values above 21,474,836.47.

Instead, you can manually type in a summary of one or all 1099-B forms. You can enter 4 lines and cover the form(s).

Enter the totals for each:

  • short term covered
  • short term non-covered
  • long term covered
  • long term non-covered

When you enter summary data only,  you are required to send a copy of your 1099B to the IRS. Once you submit your electronic copy, TurboTax prints out a cover letter and instructions on where to send a copy of your 1099B.

Here's where you enter your 1099-B in TurboTax:

  1. Open (or continue) your return if it isn't already open
  2. Select the magnifying glass, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2021?
    • If you see Your investment sales summary, select Add More Sales
  4. On the OK, let's start with one investment type screen, select the category that applies to your situation and Continue
  5. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
  6. At Let's get your tax info, choose to type it in yourself
  7. Answer the questions about your 1099-B

Form 1099-B is included in TurboTax Premier, TurboTax Live Premier, Self-Employed, and TurboTax Live Self-Employed (online) and in all personal CD/Download versions of TurboTax.

This is similar to what happened to us. When I imported lets say acct#1 it came in correctly for divs, interest and Cap gains - and when I imported account 2 it came in correctly for the same items - when I imported account 3 (divs and Cap gains only)  it came in correctly but it removed the data from account 1 for Divs and Capital gains. This was from Fidelity also.

And when I imported my wifes data from Fid it was listed in TT as from the Taxpayer and not the spouse.

I am replying to myself - forgot to mention that when I reimport the date from account 1 which disappered it comes back in and seems correct though when in step by step mode it shows that it was imported 2 times.

Also, I have to manually change the source of wife's import to spouse from taxpayer.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are below the limits I stated above, you can use this tip to import the extra accounts.
