I have forgotten to check the in the form 1040 where someone can claim me as a dependent. Therefore, after filing the tax returns my e file was rejected. How cant I edit?

Since your return was rejected, you can change the answer to the question about being claimed as a dependent before you resubmit your return.

Go to the My Info section of your return (shown on the left side of the screen). That is where you will find the question about whether you can be and/or will be claimed as a dependent on another return.

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, go to the Personal Info section.

I am not seeing an option in the Personal Info summary to check off that someone can claim me as a dependent.

Click on Edit next to your name in the My Info (personal info) section. Scroll down to question #3 and change your answer if needed. @AmiSmith
