I have foreign tax carryover in 1116 and 1116AMT. The 1116AMT wont attach correctly. The worksheets are correct and if I choose open form the data is correct.
If I put in $100 in the worksheet in any box the form is generated and attaches correctly.

It depends. Usually this is reported in a consolidated worksheet called a1116 Comp WKS, rather than a separate worksheet.
Hi,
Thanks. That is not the issue. The worksheet is there. It is correct. The AMT data is there. That is also correct.
When I look at the tree, and look at the PDF only the 1116 and schedule B appear. 1116 AMT and schedule B AMT do not appear. The documents are there, they are correct and are printable. Just not part of the return.
That's the issue.
The PDF version usually prints out the tax return that gets sent to the IRS and the worksheets are for your own reference. You may need to access the print center to be able to print all your forms. if in Turbo Tax online;
if you sent in your return already, go to Your tax returns & documents at the bottom of the page,
If you use Turbo Tax Desktop
Thanks for the answer.
Firstly, when I choose all forms and worksheets in the print option -- it does not print the 1116-AMT and Schedule B, 1116-AMT.
Secondly, the issue is that the 1116-AMT and Schedule B, 1116-AMT must be part of the return and they are not included when they are populated and correct. How do I know they are not included?
Print > Filing copy -- not there
Forms view > Look at tree -- not there
Forms open > 1116-AMT -- it is there and it is right and can be printed.
Lastly, how close are we? Any cell in the 1116-AMT can be made $50, and it populates it into the return. Make all the cells $0 (as it should be) and it drops off. It must be included, because it records the carryforward foreign taxes of past year even though there is no activity this year.
No. I will stand by my original advice. All of the activity and concern you addressed are reported in Form 1116 comp worksheet. Unless you were required to pay AMT taxes this year, you do not need Form 1116-AMT or Schedule B in your return. The IRS are just not interested in these unless you have to pay alternative minimum taxes this year and need to produce a reconciliation form.
