I have an end of year bonus check which was taxed a lot than I expect. I thought it should refund me while filing my tax report, but it did not happen.

If I divide the value on the bonus check back to each month, It should be lower than the total amount shown on the federal withhold. And I should get refund on that.

That doesn't matter. Your tax is based your total taxable income for the year Your total withholding is then subtracted to determine your taxes due to be refunded.
