Thank you for your message about the USAA discount program for TurboTax. I am sorry to read that you are having difficulty. Please note, the $20.00 discount is for federal returns using the Home & Business edition. There is a $15.00 discount available for the Premier edition and a $10.00 discount available for the Basic and Deluxe editions.
I am not sure from your message if you already paid full price or if you stopped before paying. If you paid full price, so we can best help you with potentially receiving a refund, please call our specialized Tax Team. Representatives are available at 1-800-531-6347 from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Central time Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Central time on Saturdays.
To process a refund request, our representatives will need the following information:
-Your TurboTax Order Number
-The last four digits of the credit card used to pay TurboTax fees
-The e-mail address used with TurboTax
-The date your tax return was submitted/filed
I have limited information about the specific steps you used to access TurboTax Online. But, I d like to clarify that for discounts to be correctly received a person must access TurboTax through usaa.com during the same TurboTax session in which taxes are filed. There is, however, no requirement that tax filing be completed in a single TurboTax session. TurboTax users can input information, save, and return later to enter additional information, etc. until taxes are eventually filed.
