I had health insurance through my employer in 2022 but my insurance through the Market Place was never canceled. Now I owe money. How do I fix this?

Apparently the insurance I got through the Marketplace back in 2020 renewed yearly, even though I had insurance through my employer. I never used the insurance from Marketplace and never paid any premiums for it in 2022. My return was rejected, and when I re-filed with the information from form 1095-A I now owe the IRS money. Is there a way to fix this? Who would I contact?

You would have to contact the Healthcare Marketplace that issued the Health Insurance first.  You may have to wait to file your taxes until you find out what your options are.

This is awful, I canceled with the broker but they never canceled. Can you tell me if u got this situated and how. The broker won’t even return my calls. We owe 11000 because of his mistake. Can u let me know if u found out what u could do? [email address removed] thank you!
