Do you mean you used the online program and entered 2017 income?  If you did that it was a big mistake.  The online program is only for 2019 returns---no other year--and you cannot change the year.

Did you e-file or try to e-file it?  Was it accepted or rejected?  Hopefully it was rejected--or you have a bigger problem to fix.

Tell us your e-file status so we know how to help:

Yes it was accepted but should have been for 2017.

@laneyba Not sure you  how managed for it to be accepted.  But it was completely wrong to file 2017 income on a 2019 tax return form.  The tax laws changed in a big way for 2018 and beyond.  Your 2017 income should have been entered onto 2017 forms using 2017 desktop software.  You can still do that to file the 2017 income correctly.  And if you have any income at all for 2019, after the IRS processes that incorrect return, you can amend the return and enter your 2019 income--even if it is only unemployment compensation or some other income.  But do not try to amend yet---not until the return has been processed.  Wait and see what the IRS does.  When they see that the income you put on the return does not match anything reported by an employer for 2019 it may go under review and you might get a letter.  Post back here to tell us what happens  with it and for help with amending when you are ready to do so.

Here is how to file your 2017 income correctly:

Online preparation and e-filing for 2016, 2017 and 2018 is permanently closed.

To file a return for a prior tax year

If you need to prepare a return for 2016, 2017, or 2018 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

Or if it is a simple return, you could just prepare it on paper to mail in.  You can print the forms and instructions:
