I filed an extension for 2018 for my federal. Do I need to file any paperwork for an extension for the state, if I live in CA and I have a refund coming?
On Form FTB 3519 for CA state, it states that I don't have to mail in this form if my return is 0. I will get an automatic extension until October if I am getting a refund. Is this correct, or is there anything I need to do to complete this extension for the sate of California?

California (CA) automatically grants a 6-month extension to October 15. If you owe them taxes, submit payment by April 15 to avoid penalties. Here are 3 payment options:
- Print and mail Form FTB 3519 along with your check payment
- Pay online at their Web Pay site
- Put it on your credit card
