I downloaded a turbotax.txf file on my Mac and it arrived as turbotax.txf.txt which was not recognized by turbotax. I deleted the .txt but cannot import K-1 data.

Using TurboTax Premier (Mac) installed from CD.

Right-click on the file and "Get Info", then turn down the arrow by the "Name & Extension" details and you'll see that the extension didn't change like you thought it did. Once you change the extension at the end of the filename to ".TXF" in this window, then you will be able to import it into turbotax.

Try changing "turbotax" to another name and then remove .txt, leaving .txf. It worked for me.

@stuartcrawford did you figure out how to import your TXF files on Mac? I am having the same issue - the files are grayed out even after changing the extension to .TXF

I just figured it out - for anyone else having this issue: Right-click on the file and "Get Info", then turn down the arrow by the "Name & Extension" details and you'll see that the extension didn't change like you thought it did.
