This is especially important this year due to the PATH ACT. If you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit and your return is off your refund will be held up while the IRS sees why. In addition, your return is supposed to be filled out to the best of your ability. If you know information is missing and have not taken a reasonable effort to get your information (even if it is the fault of your employer filing forms late) you can have issues.
