If you have no income  you aren't obligated to file your tax return.

The IRS  adjusts the minimum amount of earned income from year to year for inflation. Individuals who fall below the minimum may still have to file a tax return under certain circumstances; for instance, if you had $400 in self-employment earnings, you'll have to file and pay self-employment tax.

My wife was the sole provider for our household in 2020. In the past we have filed married filing jointly.  2020 I did not have income, but I did donate a vehicle to the local PBS station and I'm not sure if as a couple that donation is actually available for a deduction.  The vehicle was in my name. I have investments which may have gained. Can you advise please?

What do you want to know?  You still file a Joint return even if only one person has income.  Yes on a Joint return you can itemize deductions and enter the vehicle.
