I cleared and started over, because it would not let me downgrade. How do I do this?

Have you registered your product?

In TurboTax Online, you may be able to Switch Products or Clear and Start Over.

Switch Products or Clear and Start Over may be found in the lower left hand corner of the screen if it is available to you.

As long as you have not

• submitted payment, 
• deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or 
• registered your product, 

 you may erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online. If you have done any of these things, you will need to manually edit your return.

To erase your return and start over in TurboTax Online:

1. Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return, if you haven’t already.
2. Select Tax Tools from the left menu, then Clear & Start Over.
3. Answer Yes to confirm.

TurboTax Free Edition is for customers who are filing Simple Form 1040 Returns only (no schedules except for Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Student Loan Interest). Roughly 37% of taxpayers qualify.   If you have additional forms or attachments, you’ll need to use a different TurboTax product.

Follow these steps to downgrade to a different TurboTax Online product:

1. Open your return if you haven't already.
2. In the left menu, select Switch Products. 
3. Select Downgrade
