I cannot import my 1099b

there are hundreds of transactions in my 1099B and it is just too much to do manually

TurboTax Online has a limit of 500 1099 transactions which can be imported. Your best bet if your number of transactions exceeds that number, is to use a desktop product, which will allow 2000-3000 import transactions.

Has anyone else put in their import code correctly and the system gives an error message stating put the import code in exactly as it appears on your W2?
