I am trying to finish my taxes. why am I being charged for my state return

State tax return is not Free to file.  Only the Federal Return is free.  Many states have their own websites where you can file the State Tax Return, just mark it in Turbo Tax, 'to be mailed in', You have all of your calculations done, so print them and use them to fill in the state return on your State site.  That is what I have done in the past.
