I am trying to file and at the end its saying I owe $100 some dollars and I don't want to use these additional programs. how can I take that off and just file for free?

If you are eligible you can use the IRS  Free File Program which is free to file both a federal and state tax return.  If your AGI is  $69K or less then there is at least one of the  10 companies that have free options that you can get to ONLY thru the IRS web site ... https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free
