I am stuck in a turbo loop. Can't fix problem because problem does not exist.

"State withholdings can not be greater than or equal to gross distribution or state distribution" is the message I get regarding my 1099R. I can't fix it because state withholding is less than gross distribution..

If you imported the 1099-R, delete it and type it in yourself.  Also make sure that the commas and decimal points aren't in the wrong places.  In fact, you don't need to type the commas at all.

Thank you. That is generally good advice and I will certainly remember it going forward. Unfortunately, in this case, it did not work. I had to add information to another box that was blank on my 1099R. I am certain the blank was being compared to the monetary amount and being found to be "less than". Once I added the amount that could have been on the 1099R, it went through. Hopefully Turbo Tax will fix this software glitch.
