I am not being allowed to e-file because of a zip code issue

When ready to file, i received a CHeck Entry message.  It is a problem with the recipient address on a 1099-R.  THe state field has "SC" instead of the correct "NY" and is therefore not accepting the NY zip code as valid.  It is not letting me edit the state field.   How do I fix?

You may have to delete the 1099-R and re-enter with the correct state and zip code.

You want to verify the correct zip code here.

Recipient information is not something that is entered when a 1099-R is input, only the Payor info.  I assume the recipient info would be auto-filled based on my personal information, which does have have the correct state and zip code.

Yes, you are the recipient and your information should have auto populated from your personal information.  You should delete the 1099-R as recommended in the post by @jamesG1
