You say that you were employed.   Did you file tax returns for 2020 and/or 2021?  If so, what was on line 30 of your Form 1040's for those tax years?

The first stimulus checks were issued in 2020; the first one was for $1200 for adults and $500 for qualified children dependents under the age of 17.   The IRS was in a hurry to send out those checks so they sometimes used information from your 2019 return to send out the check.  Or sometimes they sent it after you filed your 2020 return.

The second stimulus was sent in late 2020 or early 2021; that one was $600 per adult and $600 for qualified children dependents under the age of 17.

The 3rd stimulus check was $1400 for adults and $1400 for any dependent you claimed, and was sent out in 2021.

If you did not receive the first or second stimulus check, you can get it by filing a 2020 return and use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review.   The stimulus amount will show up on line 30 of the Form 1040.

If you did not receive the 3rd stimulus check, you can get it by filing a 2021 tax return and use the recovery rebate credit in Federal Review.    The stimulus amount will show up on line 30 of the Form 1040.

Check your own bank account for deposits of the stimulus checks, and check your online account with the IRS to see what the IRS shows they sent to you.

Try checking your online account with the IRS (and if you filed a joint return—check for BOTH of you)

First, a payment may have been issued automatically to your bank account.

Second, if you didn't get an automatic payment, you would have claimed the credit on your 2020 and 2021 tax returns (filed in April 2021 and April 2022).  The credit was added to your other refund, not issued as a separate check.  While it was possible to file a tax return and not claim the credit, any software program you used would automatically claim the credit if you were eligible.  So check your past tax returns to see if the credit was added to your refund.

Third, you can check your IRS account online to see if a credit or rebate was issued in your name.  If it was, and you never received it, you have to trace/investigate the previous payment, you can't get a new payment by filing a new tax return.  It might have been fraudulently issued in your name, or issued to the wrong bank account and sent back to the IRS, or mailed to the wrong address and sent back to the IRS.

Then finally, if you never got a payment, never claimed the equivalent credit, and a payment was never issued in your name, you can now try to claim the credit by filing amended 2020 and 2021 tax returns.   If you owe a balance to the IRS and are due a stimulus credit, the credit will be applied to your back taxes first, and anything left over will be sent to you by check in the mail.
