Exporting from Your Scottrade Account
You can also import a TXF file from the Gain/Loss & Tax Center
located within your account. This option is available for the download
version of TurboTax® product only.
Download Gain/Loss & Tax Center information into a TXF file:
- Log into your account at www.scottrade.com.
- Hover over My Account.
- Click Gain/Loss & Tax Center under the Tax Information heading.
- Click on the Tax Reports tab.
- Select the year you wish to download and click GO.
- A dialogue box will appear. Click Save, then select Desktop on the left side and click Save.
Log into your TurboTax® software and import the TXF file:
- Open TurboTax®.
- From the File menu, select Import, then From Account Software.
- From the list, select Other Financial Software (TXF File) and then click Continue.
- Select the file you want to import and click the Import Now button.
Keep in mind that the TXF file includes realized transactions only and does not include interest and dividend information.
It is important to verify the accuracy of the Gain/Loss & Tax
Center report. After importing the TXF file into tax preparation
software, compare the results of the tax software with the Tax Center
realized report and edit imported data if necessary.
