If you chose the option to pay out of your Federal refund, there is a 39.99 service fee (44.99 for California filers) in addition to your product fees. With that option, you cannot choose to get your refund by a check in the mail since the pay-out-of refund method requires direct deposit.
To get a check in the mail you would have to remove the option to pay out of the Federal refund and pay by some other method. If you have already filed, it's too late to remove that payment option UNLESS the return is rejected. If it rejects, then you can remove that payment option and pay upfront with credit/debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store. That would also allow you to choose to receive the Federal refund by check in the mail.
By your screen name above, it says "Self-Employed Edition". If that's what you are using, the fees are currently discounted at 89.99 for Federal and 39.99 for state (if applicable). Then to pay those fees out of the Federal refund is an additional 39.99 service fee (44.99 for California filers.)
