Did you receive a referral link from a friend and want to redeem it for a discount by preparing your TurboTax return through that link?    Or are you the one who generated a referral link that you want to email to a friend?

 If you received a referral link from a friend, you don't put/enter it anywhere.  The recipient of the referral link uses that link to go to the TurboTax website to prepare a TurboTax return.  Using the special link to get there and prepare a return is what generates the discount for the user as well as the bonus for the person who sent the referral link.
