You do not need a second CD.   Any version of the CD/download has all of the forms and schedules, and you can use use CD/dowload to prepare and e-file up to five federal returns with their associated state returns.  More returns can be filed using the same CD/download if the additional ones are filed by mail.  You had no need to purchase a second CD.

Using the CD/download you already have, you should just go to File and Click on New Return to start a return for another family member.

Seek a refund for the unnecessary second software that you purchased.

To request a refund from TT ;  https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/forms/refund-request.jsp
