I filed an amended tax return using turbotax for 2018 and that resulted in a separate turbotax file. I had already almost completed my taxes for 2019 based on the non-amended copy of my 2018, also using turbotax, for which I filed an extension. I now would like to complete my 2019 by somehow importing the amended version of my 2018 taxes into my almost completed 2019 file. I cannot figure out how to do this. Any help would be appreciated so that I don't have to start 2019 from scratch.

The prior year tax data file can only be transferred to a new tax return. So, if you want to transfer the 2018 tax data file then you will have to start a new tax return. Save your current return and name it accordingly using the File menu and Save As... Assuming that you are using the TurboTax desktop editions.
