When you enter your information into TurboTax, the TurboTax Program will determine what the best filing status is for you. If you meet the requirements to file as Head of Household TurboTax will select that filing status for you.
You will be asked to answer questions about yourself and any dependents you have when you start your return. TurboTax will let you know if your situation qualifies for Head of Household.
You can get to these screens in the TurboTax program by going to Personal profile if you are using TurboTax Online or by clicking on the Personal Info tab,
if you are using TurboTax Desktop. You will then select "Edit" next to your name or your dependent's names to make any necessary changes.
