Owe money to whom??  Did you get a bill for TurboTax fees?   Is it this?

If you chose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your refund, and if your refund has been delayed at the IRS, TurboTax would eventually want to be paid.  They may have sent you an email to either go ahead and pay the fees or else they will debit your bank account.  If that's your issue, here's how that works:

FAQ:  Why was my bank account auto-debited for the TurboTax fees?

If your Federal refund has been delayed, what is displayed at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool?   Is there any message there?

The IRS refund tracker tool normally uses 3 stages:

  • Return received and is being processed.
  • Refund approved.
  • Refund sent and an expected deposit date.

If that IRS tool shows your refund is still being processed, and if it's been longer than the usual 21 days, you can phone the IRS to see if they can tell you anything about the delay.
