How do you get free filing?

Turbo Tax Free Edition for simple returns. While in the process of entering information you may have entered information that the  Free Edition doesn’t cover, which is available in the Deluxe version. You can downgrade to the Free Edition by clicking Clear and Start Over, which is located at the top of the home page under My Account. Keep in mind that if you enter sufficient itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction, you'll be asked to upgrade to Deluxe again.
