How do you fill out form 6251?

If you have already filed, you have to wait until your return is either rejected or approved.  

If it's rejected, you can return to the program to add the Form 6251 while fixing the error. 

If your return is approved, to amend, please click here 2018 Amend.  Please wait until your return is fully processed and you have received your refund or your payment has cleared.  

Under the amendment,  here are the steps (online):

• Sign into your account, select Take me to my return
• To your right upper corner, in the search box, type in "amt" and Enter
• Select Jump to amt
• Follow prompts
