im using windows 8 and don't know how to update to a higher windows for my turbo tax deluxe

this is an income tax and not a windows forum. however, first. you need to back up your computer since the update may fail thus rendering your computer unusable or delete certain files that you want to keep. some programs may need to be reinstalled.

Windows 10 is not a free UPGRADE unless one was included with the purchase of your computer as mine was. If Costco.com is still stocking it, they have better prices than other sources, but if you are spending money look into the newest, Windows 11, if your system is robust enough to host it. Look at your Win 8 Update options in Control Panel or Settings.
