Windows 10 is not a free UPGRADE unless one was included with the purchase of your computer as mine was. If Costco.com is still stocking it, they have better prices than other sources, but if you are spending money look into the newest, Windows 11, if your system is robust enough to host it. Look at your Win 8 Update options in Control Panel or Settings.
