How do I transfer 2022 tax information into 2023 using Desktop version of Turbo Tax on Windows?

How do I transfer 2022 tax information into 2023 using Desktop version of Turbo Tax on Windows? I am unable to find the .tax2022 file I have searched the same device I have used for Turbo Tax for the last 7 years and no such file exists. I read other Q & A's and was not able to follow the steps outlined due to not seeing the same screens or not having the steps resolve my issue. Thank you for any suggestions or new steps I can try.

When you exit the TurboTax desktop editions for Windows you are asked if you want to save the file. If you click on Yes the tax return is saved as a tax data file. By default any saved tax data files and PDF's are stored in the TurboTax folder within the Documents directory.

Open the TurboTax folder and see if you have all of your tax data files.

The 2022 tax data file will have a file extension of .tax2022

The File name will be similar to the following with your Last Name and First Initial -

2022 Doe J Form 1040 Individual Tax Return.tax2022
