how do i take a dependant off my taxes if he can file himself

it stated somewhere that if my dependant made less than $4000. I could claim him..he only made 1900.  so I claimed him...his return was rejected...what do i do now???

He changes the dependency on his tax return to being claimed as a dependent and then he e-files the corrected tax return again.

ok I don't remember seeing where he could be claimed...I can just go back thru & find that?? Thank you!!

On His tax return, assume he used TurboTax, click on My Info on the left side of the screen.  Edit his name and there will be question to answer.  One will ask if he can be claimed as a dependent.  Check that box and continue the section until completed.
