How do I start my 2016 tax return?

If you are using TurboTax CD/Download, you will start a new return by doing the following:

1. Open your TurboTax program.
2. From the File menu in the upper left corner, choose New Tax Return.
3. That's it! You are ready to start working on a new return.

If you are using TurboTax Online,  you will do the following:

1. Select the TurboTax Online product you want to use for the return and proceed.
2. On the Create your account screen, set up a new login if necessary (if you already have an account, just sign in using the user name and password that you created for that account)
3. That's it! You are ready to start working on a new return.
