How do I proceed? Cross River Bank Check Destroyed TT says canceled and sent to new address (officially changed and showing on transcripts with irs) TT sees nothing

All right, I’m just going to cut straight to the point. I screwed up bad and this is a deep web of “yikes”. I know this. Please offer known confirmed insight not what you think you know as I’ve cried and tore myself up already over this. 1. My Bank closed account during refund accepted period, my refund was set to send there via DD. 2. My Bank (yea I know not anymore) sent refund deposit back to TurboTax. 3. Cross River Bank issued paper check. 4. Homeless and lost housing after I filed, paper check sent to address from then but new renters shredded it as I have moved since filing. 5. TurboTax canceled the check, 3 weeks ago. But no one has any information from there. 5. Address changed and new address showing on Tax Transccripts- I told turbo tax to send new check to new address and they said they did because it was updated on irs but they now have no info on any second check Notes A TT agent spent hours with me having Me upload bank statements to have my reissued check issued as a dd to my green dot turbo tax debit card That was all a lie No one at Tt has any information. Turbo dashboard has changed over the months 1. direct deposit expected date 2. We couldn’t deposit your refund a check has been sent 3. Back now to accepted with no info IRS won’t help me they see refund issued by paper check from cross river bank (the first check) and that’s jt. $5600 that will get me off the cold street and into my new housing. I’m dying here Please someone, anyone, have you had this level of screwed.

Your refund was processed by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, regardless of the name on the check.  Either they have your funds, or they sent the funds back to the IRS.  If SBT has your funds, you can try calling them.  However, they may simply send the funds back to the IRS as a safety precaution, because in the past they have been scammed by people claiming misdirected refunds.

Once the IRS has your funds returned from the third party banks, they should mail a check to your address of record, although that will take 4-6 weeks after they receive the funds.  If it is longer than that, you can ask the IRS to trace the refund and issue a new check.

Turbotax simply will not have any information about your refund at this point.  Turbotax can't access your account at the IRS, and banking privacy laws probably prevent Turbotax from directly accessing your information at SBT.  You need to work with SBT or the IRS directly.
