Click on Sign out at the bottom left of the online program screen. Your information is saved as it is entered when using the online editions.

Your progress is saved as entered in TurboTax Online. As @DoninGA mentioned, you can sign out of the program when you are finished with your session.

In TurboTax Desktop, the program asks if you want to save the return when you select File and then Exit.
