How do I indicate that I lived in a state for two periods in the same year? (January-February and August-December)

I'm trying to file my state taxes but there doesn't seem to be any option to indicate two periods of residency. Should I just add the periods together and put that as my residence period?

You should file a Resident return for the state you reference in your question, and a Non-resident return for the other state.
