How do I import my W2 via EIN #?

To import a W-2 you must have the Employer EIN and the amount in box 1 of the W-2 you received from your employer.   You may also need the control number in box d of the W-2.

If you do not have this information then you need to get the W-2 from the employer.

The steps to import your W-2 require also Box 1 wages and Box d, control number.

Here is how you can import your W-2 in TurboTax Online:

1. Click on Federal Taxes,  Wages & Income,  Job (W-2),  Add/Edit
2. On the next page select Add a W-2
3. Choose your or your spouse's name, if applicable
4. Enter the employer ID from your W-2
5. If your W-2 can be imported, you can answer the questions to complete your import.
   1. If your EIN isn't recognized as one that is available to import, now you can choose to upload it from your computer, or type it in yourself.
