How do I go back and add a dependent w2 income?

Do not add your dependent's W-2 income on your income tax return. 

If your dependent got a W-2 for 2016 and had federal income tax withheld, they should file a federal income tax return to get money back (refund). TurboTax Online has a Free version they may be able to use. How do I start another return in TurboTax Online?

If they choose to complete an income tax return, it is important that they choose the following options: 

• Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return and
• And this person will claim me on their 2016 tax return.

To enter the W-2:

• Type W-2 in the search bar and click search.
• Click on Jump to W-2.
• Enter the W-2 information.
