I just spoke with TurboTax support they said they’re working on fixing the problem with it just keep checking back
I spoke to a Comptroller of Maryland rep who said this IS NOT a Maryland form ... I've been waiting for a fix from Turbo Tax for two weeks with the same message "it should be available soon"
Hopefully TurboTax can fix it soon
I'm about to bail and file with HR Block. I'm tired of waiting on something that should be an easy fix.
Form 8582 is used to figure the amount of any passive activity loss.
If this is in your Maryland tax return, our team is working to resolve an error message in some Maryland state returns that give an error message about Form 8582 needing an update, even if there are no passive losses to report.
Did you e-file without waiting for a fix?
I got tired of waiting and import my information to H&R Block
NO
Why is this taking over 3 weeks ??? This should be an easy fix and especially because people are waiting to file, but can not due to this error. It has already been said the longer you wait to file will cause your refund to be in a back log. Please hurry up! Maybe Fox 45 can get some answers.
How do you import to another software without losing your information?
Do you have an anticipated date that this will be fixed? Still coming up with the Form 8582 error on 2/20/22 and would like to file by next week.
You go to download save to file then upload it to new software
Form 8582 is used to figure the amount of any passive activity loss, where you are not actively engaged in a business or investment, such as losses from rentals.
If this is in your Maryland tax return, our team is still working to resolve an error message in some Maryland state returns that give an error message about Form 8582 needing an update, even if there are no passive losses to report.
If the federal forms are all finalized and the federal is ready to e-file, you can choose to file just the federal return at this time, then come back when your state forms are ready and e-file that return. The filing date for tax year 2021 Maryland state returns was extended to July 15th, 2022.
Note, if you don't e-file them together, you do have to wait until the federal is accepted before you can e-file the state. Sometimes this takes a day or even two.
Here is a TurboTax Help article with directions for when you return to file your state return.
File State after the Federal is Filed
Things whatbwe had ended up doing, but sheesh , since we already paid fed & state and I still can't submit the state and since it's paid going to another resource isn't an option. Hope it's fixed soon!
