How do I get my turbo tax to ask the question "did you make any major purchases"?

If you are asking the question about major purchases with regard to Sales Tax, use the following steps.

If you have already gone through the Sales Tax section one time and have a locality entered, click Edit beside the locality.  This will take you through the section again where it will ask if you made any major purchases.

If you are adding a locality then the major purchases question will be a part of the questions you will see.

If you have not yet gone through the Sales Tax section, use these steps:

• On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
• This opens a box where you can type in “sales tax” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
• The search results will give you an option to “Jump to sales tax”
• Click on the blue “Jump to sales tax” link
  
• Choose EasyGuide method to enter your information
