Ok so without being able to see your computer to see the forms in the return, this is what I was able to come up with for the best option to help you.

If Schedule RS, Part 2, Column H (AlabamaWithheld) is
populated then Column F (StateCode) and Column G
(StateID) must be populated.

So you need to enter the state Code in section F and state identification number or ein in section G. This info should be for the employer you entered in your return under the federal wages and income tab.

So we can correct this by going to

  1. Federal
  2. Wages and income
  3. Edit W2
  4. continue to the next page
  5. scroll to state
  6. Add the State ID number or ein
  7. add the State from the drop down menu
  8. Click on file in the left menu
  9. Continue to refile return

So if there is no withholdings listed in Column H for Alabama, then we can fix this by going

  1. back to federal
  2. Wages and income
  3. W2 Wages
  4. Edit your W2
  5. then scroll down to the state section
  6. click the drop down that is showing Alabama for the state
  7. Set this to the very first option you can select which should be blank or choose.
  8. Make sure the section for amount is left blank without any numbers
  9. Click file on the left hand side menu
  10. continue to refile the return

Let me know how it goes!
