You mentioned that you were on medicaid for part of the year, but if you had marketplace insurance for some months during the year you must enter form 1095-A on your tax return. You can download a copy of it from the marketplace insurance website: Healthcare.gov
I had health insurance for the beginning of 2022 and for a month over that summer, both from employers. In May, I went on Medicaid for the rest of the year. The Marketplace said they have no 1095-A for me. But the IRS keeps rejecting my filings for not having a 1095-A. They don't want to see my 1095-C's. Does Medicaid supply taxes forms for its coverage?
No, there is no form 1095-A that Medicaid provides. I suggest you mail your return in. If the IRS comes back at you and requests the Form 1095-A there will be a phone number on the notice they send you where you can call and tell them that you didn't have marketplace coverage.
Thank you! That is some solid advice.
