How do I file my tax returns from two years ago? I completed everything on TurboTax & never sent it in and was too late to e-file?

I completed my tax return preparation on TurboTax for the 2022 tax year and was expecting a refund, however failed to submit it by the deadline and then had no idea how to submit a late return. I did however file my 2023 return but still missing the refund from my 2022

The only way to file a 2022 return now is by mail.    E-filing is permanently closed for 2022.   If you are getting a refund there is no penalty for missing the filing deadline, and you can still receive a refund for 2022.   You must print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in to the IRS and state.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
