   Your link to the page for state extensions is a nice effort, but the link for New York state extensions is broken.  Please fix it.

You can file for an extension for free directly on the IRS web site.  You will need to have your best guess on taxes owed.

1. Scroll down to "Other forms and voluntary contributions" section.  
2. Update the "Other Forms" topic.  
3. Start the "Request for Extension of Time to File" topic
