1040 is the name of the tax form you are filing and is what you send the government when you file. All taxpayers can use Form 1040;

When you use TurboTax to prepare and file your taxes, you don’t need to know anything about tax forms or tax tables. We’ll just ask you simple questions, fill in all the right forms, and do all the calculations for you.



Based on the tax data that you enter, the TurboTax program selects the proper tax return for your situation, Form 1040EZ, Form 1040A or Form 1040.  You do not have to choose which tax form to use, that is done for you by the tax preparation software.
