You will not be able to e-file your return with an override. You can print and mail your return if you are going to file it with the override.
If you are using the Desktop/Download version of TurboTax, and you override a calculation entry in Forms Mode, this would void your Accurate Calculation Guarantee. Please see here for more information.
Line 3 of Massachusetts Form 1 is Wages. It could be that part of your wages are treated differently by Massachusetts. Generally, the amount shown for state wages is higher than the amount for federal wages because your pension contributions are excluded from your income for federal tax purposes. When filing your Massachusetts income tax return, you must use the amount shown for state wages (Box 16). See this Massachusetts webpage for more information.
If you want to experiment with different scenarios before filing, you can use the Online version or create a "dummy" file in the Desktop version.
If you made an entry error in either the Online or Desktop version, you can return to the section where the entry error occurred and edit the previous entry.
