How do I change my status from Head of Household to single? I am automatically listed as HoH but I am divorced and my ex-husband is filing as HoH this year.

I am divorced and my ex and I each claim one of our two children as dependents. We determined that my ex would file as Head of Household this year. But Turbotax automatically selects HoH for me, and I cannot change it (my understanding is that we can't both file as HoH even though we are each claiming one dependent and both pay more than 50% of the costs for our individual homes).

Since you are not living together in the same household you both can have Head of Household filing status if you meet the requirements.
