Please clarify -- are you referring to a state income tax credit? If so, what state is it for? What is a "Start Credit"? What qualifies a person to receive it?
Any information you might provide would be helpful.
Thank you for your reply! Sorry I meant STAR credit. You are eligible if you own property in NY and make less than an amount of money, we qualify and have applied. I was told because we didn't get our 2022 credit sent out yet that I could add it in on my tax return. The bot tells me exactly where to go for it but in the last step after I go to deductions the option for the star credit does not show on my turbo tax to add in.
If you've entered information in the TurboTax program that indicates you're eligible for the STAR credit, you should be able to enter your information.
To get back to the relevant section in TurboTax Online:
In the following screens, you can enter your STAR credit information.
NOTE: If, at some point in the steps above, you land on the Take a look at New York credits and taxes screen, you can get to the STAR interview by selecting Update to the right of Property Tax Relief or STAR Credit and IT-119.
If you've entered information in the TurboTax program that indicates you're not eligible for the STAR credit, you may not be able to enter your information. According to the Instructions for Form IT-229, Real Property Tax Relief Credit, to be eligible for this credit, you must meet all the following requirements:
To see if you actually may have received a STAR credit, you can look up property tax credits previously paid to you on the Department of Taxation and Finance's Property Tax Credit Lookup tool.
