The availability of formalized installment agreement options varies, depending on the state.

You should directly contact your state's taxing authority to find out what options are available.  Please note that there will be penalties and interest assessed on any unpaid balance.  

State penalties can be very significant (Indiana, for example, imposes a 10% penalty on unpaid taxes owed).  To minimize this amount, you should pay as much as possible by April 18, 2017.
